The blending of the Chateau Signac red wines is composed mostly of Grenache and Syrah
An original vin de saignée from a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Counoise. Fresh and fruity, its structure is an echo to the Tavel rosé wines.
A fully Mediterranean exuberance
With its black fruit and fruit stone aromas, this very expressive wine reveals a round and dense body.
“The 2005 cuvée Tradition, which is mostly Grenache but with an important component of around 24% Syrah and Mourvèdre exhibits a dark ruby/purple color and notes of black cherries, licorice and spice. The wine is medium bodied has a hint of lavender and is very Provençal. Drink over the next 2-3 years.” Robert Parker
The soul of the domain sings through this real terroir wine
With this wine, Château Signac offers a lovely typical cuvée, expressing the quintessence of the domain's vineyards. In small proportions, Counoise and Cinsault grape varieties give this wine a very personal touch and a lovely sensual fruitiness.
“Even more impressiv is the 2005 Chusclan Combe d'Enfer which has about 15% Syrah in it, 28% Grenache, ant the rest grapes such is Mourvèdre, Cinsault. Deep ruby/purple with jammy notes of kirsch, blackberry, and licorice. The wine is full-bodied, has wonderful sweet tannins and decent acidity giving everything precision and vibrancy. Drink over the next 5-6 years. “ Robert Parker
A great wine which likes to keep you waiting
With low yields on our oldest plots, this cuvée only deserves to be produced in the very best years. Its optimum richness is the fruit of a longer maceration.
“Another top cuvée is the Terra Amata 2005. This wine is earthy, has crisp acidity, a deep/ ruby purple color and plenty of black cherry fruit intermixed with some black currant as well as spice, herbs and pepper. It should drink nicely over the next 4-5 years.” Robert Parker
The quest for excellence
A perfect symbiosis between the fruity notes from the grape varieties, the hot and spicy character of the terroir and the noblesse of the old vines' tannins. Matured in oak barrels.
“This wine which is aged 100% in new oak has no evidence of pain grillé or toasty oak. It is just dominated by its blackberry and black cherry full intermixed with licorice, incense, Chinese black tea and some herbes de Provence. This wine is beautifully made, supple textured, and gorgeously rich. Should drink nicely for another 7-8 years.” Robert Parker
